In the period from 25 to 29 September 2023, the first activity of the IM4StEM project was carried out –
data collection of buildings in the area of the city of Split. Five professors from four institutions
participated in this activity: the project leader, Prof. Marijana Hadzima-Nyarko, Ph.D., from the Josip
Juraj Strossmayer University, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture Osijek, Associate Prof.
Emmanuel Karlo Nyarko Ph.D. from the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University, Faculty of Electrical
Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology Osijek, Associate Prof. Dorin Radu Ph.D.
from the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Brasov (Romania), Associate Prof. Borko Bulajić Ph.D. from the
Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad (Serbia), Prof. Željana Nikolić Ph.D. and Prof. Nives Ostojić Ph.D.
from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Geodesy in Split. Over the course of five days, the
students attended lectures on the project and the methodology of collecting data on building
characteristics that influence seismic risk. The data was collected in two areas of the city of Split, for
which geodetic layouts were prepared. 16 students participated in this activity. The activity was
successfully completed and a total of 136 buildings were included in the database for the city of Split.
