On June 2, 2025, as part of the course “Dynamic Models of Earthquake Engineering”, a field class was held for first-year students of the University Master’s program in Civil Engineering – Structural Modeling track.
During the class, students learned about the activities of the project “IM4StEM – Intelligent Methods for Structures Elements and Materials” as well as methods for researching earthquake risk and predicting building damage. Particular attention was paid to the methodology of collecting data on building characteristics that influence seismic risk and the process of entering this data into the IM4StEM mobile application developed as part of the project.
Ten students collected data on buildings on the college campus in Split on June 2, 2025 under the supervision of Prof. Željana Nikolić, PhD, and Assoc. Prof. Hrvoje Smoljanović, PhD. From June 2 to June 9, 2025, they continued to independently collect building data in other parts of the city of Split. In total, they entered information on 100 buildings into the database for the city of Split.
