The Intelligent Methods for Structures, Elements and Materials (IM4StEM) project was presented as part of the 8th Congress of Court Experts in Zagreb, 18-19 October 2024. The IM4StEM project is an ERASMUS+ KA 2 project that focuses on the application of intelligent methods in the assessment of the behaviour of buildings, elements and materials, as well as on the innovative use of recycled construction materials. The project aims to strengthen capacities in work, research and teaching for education for sustainable development. The project involves a consortium of seven partners from different countries, including Croatia, Spain, Serbia, Turkey, Poland and Romania.
The presentation at the congress included a detailed overview of the activities and successes of the IM4StEM project. The digital tools developed for the collection of data on site were presented, as well as a web platform for a database on the condition of buildings, elements and materials. The involvement of students and teachers in the research and education processes was also emphasised, leading to the training of 600 students and 20 teachers in the use of GIS and machine learning in construction. The project also includes associated partners from various sectors, such as the Croatian Society of Court Experts and Appraisers. In her presentation, Prof. Dr. Marijana Hadzima-Nyarko emphasized the role of the Croatian Society of Court Experts and Appraisers in the IM4StEM project and thanked the President of the Croatian Society of Court Experts and Appraisers, M.Sc. Melita Bestvina, B.Sc.Civil Engineering, for inviting her to participate in this event.
