In the period from 23.10.2023. – 26.10.2023. data was collected on the buildings damaged by the earthquake in Petrinja and a tour of several buildings under reconstruction was carried out, focusing on examples of good practice in the reinforcement/strengthening of cultural heritage
buildings.
The activity was organized as part of the three-year Erasmus+ project Strategic Partnerships in Higher Education – Smart Methods for Structures, Elements and Materials (acronym: IM4StEM). The activity was attended by 2nd year graduate students specializing in structural engineering and
currently attending the elective courses “Masonry Structures I” and “Earthquake Risk” taught by Prof. Marijana Hadzima-Nyarko, Ph.
On Monday, 23 October, the first group of students and professors was received at the City Administration by the Head of the Professional Services of the City of Petrinja, Ljuba Crnković. On Wednesday, 25 October, the second group of students and professors was received by the Member of Parliament and Mayor of Petrinja, Magdalena Komes. She welcomed them to the city and mentioned among other things, that future experts like them are very much needed on the market
and that they can certainly learn a lot about their profession during their visit to the city.

Prof Danijel Kukaras and Associate Professor Borko Bulajić from the University of Novi Sad, Prof Željana Nikolić from the University of Split, Prof Ivanka Netinger Grubeša from the University North and
Associate Professor Goran Gazić and Prof Marijana Hadzima-Nyarko from the J. J. Strossmayer University in Osijek took part in the activity.
