As part of an Erasmus+ KA1 Individual Staff Training Mobility, IM4StEM project coordinator Prof. Marijana Hadzima-Nyarko is currently visiting the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia at the Universidade dos Açores, Portugal. Alongside her training activities, she took the opportunity to present the IM4StEM project and its key results to colleagues at the faculty.
The presentation covered the project’s main research topics, including seismic risk assessment, earthquake-induced structural damage, and sustainable management of construction waste. Particular attention was given to concrete project outcomes — such as the building database developed to assess the seismic vulnerability of existing structures, laboratory testing of concrete with recycled brick aggregate, and testing of walls built from old brick. Colleagues were also introduced to the open-access educational resources developed within the project and the EU digital learning credentials issued to participants.
This visit reflects IM4StEM’s ongoing commitment to disseminating research results across partner institutions and beyond, fostering collaboration between academics and demonstrating how the project’s findings can be applied to real-world engineering challenges.
